Ride the Range with the Broken Saddle Riding Co.

Many a guest of The Hacienda Nicholas Bed & Breakfast has enjoyed a ride with the Broken Saddle Riding Co.  Imagine yourself as a Wild West cowboy as you are treated to spectacular views while riding the beautiful hills and canyons of the Cerrillos Hills Historic Park and amble through abandoned silver and turquoise mines.  Harold and his guides have a stable full of well-trained and smooth-riding Tennessee Walkers and Missouri Fox Trotters.  Groups are never larger than five, and depending on skill level, you can walk, trot, canter or gallop.

I have done these rides on a few occasions. The first time was with my children, at a slower pace, when we had time to really investigate the mines and hear about the history of the area.  The second time was a spectacular sunset ride, when we were able to get going at quite a gallop.  Whew - what a blast!  The third time we had to bundled into dusters, provided by Broken Saddle, as it had begun to rain and was getting pretty chilly.  The dusters kept us warm and dry, and I really got to feeling like a buckaroo, riding rain or shine.

For more information or to make an appointment, call (505)242-7774 or see what they have to offer online.  They are open year 'round, and will make sure you stay happy and comfortable, no matter what the weather.
