River Rafting in O'Keeffe Country

The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, located just five blocks from the Hacienda Nicholas Bed & Breakfast Inn, is one of Santa Fe's most popular museums.  Visitors from around the world come to admire the renowned artist's work, and locals can go again and again since the exhibits are constantly changing.

The museum is a great place to view O'Keeffe's work, and to learn about her life and character.  Touring her house and visiting Ghost Ranch will further deepen your understanding of this remarkable woman.  For a new and unique glimpse into the world of Georgia O'Keeffe, who was an avid camper, river rafter, and intrepid explorer, try a river raft float along the Rio Chama.  The seven mile float, going through the heart of O'Keeffe country, showcases the stunning scenery that inspired O'Keeffe's landscape paintings.  You may choose to do the float on an oar-rigged raft or an inflatable kayak.

These delightful river raft tours tours occur daily from April through September, and are suitable for novice rafters from age 6 on up.  The tours meet at Ghost Ranch at 11am and cost $115/adult, $100/child, which includes a gourmet riverside picnic lunch.  For reservations, please call 800.359.2627 or book online at www.farflung.com.
