Canyon Road's Annual Paint-Out Today!

Crisp fall weather combined with a sunny blue sky day make for perfect conditions to walk the 3 blocks from the Hacienda Nicholas Bed & Breakfast Inn to Canyon Road for the 6th Annual Canyon Road Paint Out.  Over 100 artists continue the tradition of painting "en plein air" that began a century ago on Canyon Road, when artists first began establishing themselves in Santa Fe.  These artists moved into homes up and down Canyon Road, living in the back rooms, using the front rooms and outdoor portals as their studios, and displaying art along the sidewalks and exteriors of their homes.  Artists will be working outside all day today, October 19th, demonstrating such varied artistic endeavors as painting, jewelry-making, sculpting and carving.

This is a fabulous opportunity to not only see the art that wins international accolades for Canyon Road, but also the work in progress.  Music, food and art shows will be offered at various locations up and down the street.

Should you get hungry for a proper meal along the way, I highly recommend treating yourselves to a yummy lunch at the highly acclaimed Compound Restaurant, located in an historic adobe compound just off Canyon Road.  Another terrific lunch spot is Geronimo's, where you can chose to eat inside or on the outdoor patio, allowing for great people watching and enjoyment of the perfect fall weather we are experiencing today.

Robert Cray Comes to Santa Fe!

Music lovers lucky enough to be at the Hacienda Nicholas Bed & Breakfast Inn on November 10th will want to purchase advance tickets to see legendary blues guitarist and singer Robert Cray at the historic Lensic Performing Arts Center.  The five-time Grammy Award winner, now age 57, is the youngest musician to be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame.  He has played with such legends as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bonnie Raitt and John Lee Hooker, as well as doing his own solo performances.

To see him at such a relatively intimate venue as the Lensic is a rare treat indeed.  I highly recommend calling the Lensic as soon as possible at 505.988.1234 for best seats.  You may also reserve tickets online at www.ticketssantafe.org.  Ticket prices range from $34-54.  Concert begins at 7:30pm.
